Why we started
Most vending machines in our area are run by massive, out-of-state corporations. They take the profits out of our community, and when something breaks, you wait weeks.
We knew there was a better way: a way to provide premium snacks and drinks while keeping money, attention, and opportunity right here in Bloomington-Normal.
Today, we run the machines, stock the products, and build the digital connections that help local businesses grow. When you partner with LBC, you're not just getting a vending machine. You're supporting the local economy.
Our story
Local by Choice began with a mission: give our community fresh options at an affordable price.
Too many offices, apartments and gathering places never had real food on site, and community brands had few ways to reach the people inside them. So we put a cooler where it's needed, stock it fresh, and give local brands shelf space and screen time in places they wouldn't normally be, with both food and advertising.
Fresh first, local always
Our coolers start with made-fresh sandwiches, salads, wraps, parfaits and fruit, with short shelf lives so everything you buy is as fresh as it gets.
We're building partnerships with local restaurants, farms and businesses to put their products in our machines. Every local product on our shelves keeps dollars in the community and helps fund the causes we support.

We've partnered with WYSE Food Pantry, which serves many people in need across our community. Fresh food that doesn't sell never goes to waste. It goes to WYSE.
We're building toward more: community events and a scholarship fund, supported by our machines and by people who want to help.
